1. Introduction
SparkPod ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI podcast generation service, including our website and our Chrome browser extension (together, the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, name, and password when you create an account
- Content: Text, documents, URLs, and other content you submit for podcast generation
- Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through our payment providers
- Communications: Messages you send to our support team
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: How you interact with our Service, features used, and time spent
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs
- Cookies: Small data files stored on your device for functionality and analytics
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
- Process your content and generate podcast audio
- Send you service-related communications
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraud
4. Content Processing
Content you submit is processed by our AI systems to generate podcast audio. We do not use your content to train our AI models without your explicit consent. Your generated podcasts are stored securely and are accessible only to you unless you choose to share them.
5. Browser Extension
Our Chrome browser extension (the "Extension") lets you turn web pages into podcasts. This section explains how the Extension handles your data.
- Page content you choose to convert: When you explicitly start a podcast — by clicking the Extension, using its right-click menu, or adding pages to a draft — the Extension reads the relevant page's URL and title, the text you have selected, or a link you choose, and sends them to our API to generate the podcast. The Extension does not read or transmit page content unless you take one of these actions.
- No browsing tracking: The Extension does not monitor the pages you visit, your clicks, or your keystrokes, and it does not collect your browsing history.
- Authentication: The Extension uses your existing SparkPod login session to associate podcasts with your account. Signing in takes place on our website, not within the Extension, and the Extension does not store your password.
- Local storage: Your preferences (such as your default mode) and your multi-page draft list are stored locally in your browser via the browser's storage and are not used for tracking.
We use the data the Extension sends only to provide its core function — generating and managing your podcasts. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it for any purpose unrelated to the Extension's single purpose.
6. Data Sharing
We may share your information with:
- Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate our Service (hosting, payment processing, analytics)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
8. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access and receive a copy of your personal data
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data

11. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. International Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
